Christmas Challenge Update

Hi Everyone!

Well, just as I expected, my living room is being taken over by toys! We have surpassed the 60-toy mark and I am still receiving calls about drop-offs. Yay to all of you!

The deadline for dropping off toys is December 11. If you are still thinking about dropping off toys, here is some things Santa's Anonymous is in need of:

Games, soccer balls, crafts or costume jewelry for girls. BOOKS, Books, Books, especially chapter books and early readers are so important. Also activity books, brain teasers, coloured pencils, crayons, and colouring books. As well, 0-2 year toys and 10-12 year toys.

Please give me call (231.1899) if you have any questions or would like to set up a time to drop gifts off. You can drop off presents even if I haven't shot your wedding yet as we can put as a 8x10 credit :)

Hope you are all enjoying the snow!

KNP 's Christmas Challenge

Well, it's that season again! The season of giving. And this year I've decided it's time for a little project :) I have been so blessed in 2007 with great clients and lots of love, so I believe it is time to give back. And guess what? I've seen you all overwhelmed with emotion, full of love and gratitude for all the amazing things in your lives too (that a bonus of photographing receptions, I know you all have HUGE hearts) so I know you are all extra ready to give back too.

So here is the plan. We are having a fantastic Toy Drive for Santa's Anonymous. Please bring by your new, unwrapped toys for all those that need help to feel jolly this Christmas.

Here is the best part : for every toy you bring by, my gift to you is a 8x10 print of your choice. That's a value of $50 each! So you could get a bunch of friends, co-workers or family members to help you ...and voila! your home is filled with wedding and engagement pictures and all your family can finally get the beautiful prints they've been begging you for:)

I am hoping to be extremely busy printing 8x10's these next 35 days......

So here's hoping you all get started dropping off wonderful toys :) I have already got a pile started and there is lots of room for yours!

Love,
Kelsy

Kyle & Natalie- E session

Kyle & Natalie are getting married in 14 months...and they are having a destination wedding! Our engagement session was a bit chilly...scarves and jackets were in order...hopefully a lot different from the wedding day! It was great hanging out in a new (to me) area of the city, thanks for showing me the parks in your neck of the woods.

I can't wait to take off with you to paradise next January on your wonderful wedding adventure. Yay!

Cheers,
Kelsy

Rebecca & Ryan- Nov 10 2007

Rebecca and Ryan were married this Saturday in Sherwood Park. As my last wedding of 2007, we all enjoyed the freezing weather and a chilly wind :) But the BP was tough as nails and we were able to speed through our portrait session before heading off to Red Tail Landing for a beautiful (and toasty warm) reception. The night was filled with great speeches and lots of money raised for Cancer Research every time they kissed. Thanks for including in your wedding plans, I can't wait for you to both come over and relive some memories.

Keep warm,

Kelsy

Vanessa & Frank- November 3rd 2007

Vanessa and Frank were married (again ) in a beautiful Hindu ceremony in Toronto, ON. I originally photographed their wedding on 07.07.07 and was delighted to join them out east for the second celebration. With gorgeous fall colours, Lake Ontario as a backdrop and warm weather, it was a very enjoyable day...with lots of great images created. I especially enjoyed all the family, friends, and food that surrounded the weekend. It was awesome to feel like apart of both your families ( and it was awesome to wear that beautiful Sari! Thank you Auntie Cindy) Thanks so much for including me again . Can't wait to see you (and the part of the clan) at Dean & Jemina's wedding in February!

Hugs,

Kelsy

Image Competition 2007

Well, I'd like to start by saying I'm a little overwhelmed...but I'll try to get it all in words. I first want all my clients to know how much I've loved being apart of their lives this past year. It has been a whirlwind of excitement and I have enjoyed spending time with each and everyone of you. Thank you for trusting me with your most precious memories. Thank you for allowing me to produce amazing albums that can be passed down through generations. I have had so much fun this year and want you all to know how much I have loved 2007.

As for the Professional Photographers of Canada- Alberta Branch Annual Competition..... Here's what we won........Well, we did good :)

2007 Wedding Album of the Year "Kelly and Rene" (Wedding in Beaumont, AB) This award means the most to me as I put my heart into producing my albums. Thank you Kelly and Rene for being sooooo in love and letting your emotions, love and laughter be captured by myself. Your day was especially amazing and all the beauty that surrounded it was incredible to photograph.

2007 Wedding Group Portrait "Celebration on the Sand" (Wedding in Maui, HI) This image is from another amazing couple's destination wedding. Christine and Danny and their crew were so much fun...up for everything...and I mean everything. What a blast that day was!

2007 Photojournalist Wedding Image of the Year "Reluctant Princess" (Wedding in Wabasca, AB). Nichole and JJ's wedding was a great day to be apart of. Their two flower girls and two ring bearer's were so cute I had a hard time pulling the camera away from them :) But in the end we got an image that has fantastic emotion.

And to finish it off I won....."2007 Photographer of the Year" in the Generalist Category. This award is given to the photographer with the most outstanding overall entry. It was incredible to win, especially against the calibre of photographers we have in Alberta. It's been a bit of shock, but it's truly fantastic award to win so early in my career. And of course, I couldn't have done it without my brilliant, inspiring, sensational, wonderful clients. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!

So, as I take in all that has transpired these past few days, I want everyone to know how grateful I am to have everything I have. The blessing I have be given are beyond the wildest dreams. A amazing husband & family, a great career and new home....life is wonderful. And now it is time to give back in all that I can. The studio is planning a heartwarming project for all of us to share in our blessings.....I will post more details as it all becomes clearer., but as we are blessed to live some where with so much bounty, we too should bless others. More to come very soon....
All the Glory to the Big Guy Upstairs,
Kelsy :)

Brett & Rob- October 27 2007

Brettany & Rob were married this past weekend at St. Joesph's Cathedral. After a beautiful ceremony we proceeded to the University to the location where they first met...the Library. They have a large handful of degrees between the two of them, so the University seemed to be the perfect place to photograph them. We started at the Old Arts' building where Rob used to practise the Organ for his Music degree and then headed over to the Rutherford Library where they both worked on their Master's of Library Studies. It was a great way to show their story in pictures. The reception at the Faculty Club was beautiful and the speeches were sweet. Thanks to you you both for including me in your special day.

Be blessed,
Kelsy

Thanks for a fun night downtown...

Brett & Rob- Esession

Brett and Rob are getting married in less then 2 weeks :) I love this librarian couple for lots of reasons...one being that they were up for everything & anything! And by everything I mean hanging out in slightly smelly locations, dodgy back alleys, and rickety stairwells....too much fun! And the result of our adventures? Oogles of unique images with a story to tell. Thanks so much for a fun evening and see you very very soon :)

Cheers, Kelsy

Jessica & Sean- October 13 2007

Jessica and Sean were married this weekend in Sherwood Park. Jessica was stunning in her amazing dress and well, Sean, you looked pretty good too :) It was a chilly afternoon and by the end of our session Jessica was decked out in Tim's suit jacket and my long socks....too cute! I'll be sure to remind the rest of my Fall and Winter brides to all wear boots under their gowns :)

Thanks for a fun afternoon in the park!

Be blessed,

Kelsy

Carly & Bill- Engagements

Carly and Bill are getting married this January in Sherwood Park. We were able to spend an afternoon hanging out last week. They are such a fun couple...and super romantic. It was beautiful to see their connection, they interacted just like I wasn't there :)

Thanks for sharing your upcoming day with me, I can't wait.

Love,

Kelsy

Toly Family!

I had the opportunity to photograph the beautiful Toly family this past week. What an awesome family! The chilly wind kept our session quick, but because the kids were so great we were able to get lots of unique family shots. The Toly family's motto is "Work Hard, Play Hard" and they sure do. What a lot of fun!

Big hugs everyone,
Kelsy

Lonita and Chad- September 29 2007

Lonita and Chad were married North of Edson in one of the most beautiful ceremony locations I have ever photographed. A large grove of trees in the middle of a wheat field proved to a perfect place for the couple to exchange vows. A wonderful country style wedding full of beauty, love, tears, music, hugs, laughter... what more could you need? Thank you for allowing me to
document the memories.

In love,
Kelsy

Chantal and Dave- engagements

Chantal and Dave are a gorgeous couple who are getting married next Summer. We met on a dreary day last week....windy & cold....but ended up capturing fun images of the two of them in a urban setting and then to the river valley for some casual portraits. It was a great mix of settings for a really fun engagement shoot. These two go great together...we had lots of laughs and I'm sure the wedding will be even more amazing.
Your Friend,
Kelsy

Cindy & Greg

Cindy and Greg are a really awesome couple with lots in common and a great senses of humour. We enjoy an afternoon...actually it was a very chilly afternoon, they were such good sports! I was wearing three layers and they were down to their t-shirts :) The colours were beautiful and we got amazing images capturing the river valley and all the shades of fall.
Cheers,
Kelsy

Connie & Vincent- W-day

Who: The lovely Connie and Vince
What: Connie and Vincent's Nuptials
Where: St. Matthew's and Delta Grand Ballroom
When: This past Saturday
Why: 'Cause love is in the air!
Connie and Vince are amazing people inside and out! I enjoyed everything about their day, everyone was so sweet, welcoming and so much fun to be around. The reception was GREAT! I have never been asked so many times to do a Tequila shooter (which I gratefully turned down) and everyone was there to party. I ran into to a couple of past members of wedding parties and past clients...actually it sounds funny to say 'clients', cause really they are all now my friends and I just enjoyed seeing them all again!

Thanks for including me in your plans. I am so happy to have created amazing images for you!

Lots of love,
Kelsy

Jessica & Nigel- September 21st 2007

Jessica and Nigel were married this past Friday at the Muttart Conservatory. After Jessica had so many things go wrong in the planning of her wedding (and I mean a soooo many!), it was so great to see the day go by so perfectly. The ceremony was beautiful & emotional and the reception was put on fantastically by the Derrick Club. Thanks for including me in your plans...your images are amazing and you're going to be just thrilled!

Hugs,
Kelsy

Cathy & Hilary- Sept. 16 2007

A beautiful bride, a gorgeous day, lots of family and friends...what more could a wedding day need? Thanks for including me in your perfect day! I look forward to seeing you both again and showing you all your amazing memories!

Love,
Kelsy

hi

Kim & Sam- September 15 2007

Kim and Sam: What a fun day! After the beautiful ceremony, we ran around downtown St. Albert. Who knew it was such a mecca of amazing photography locations?? You both are going to be shocked and amazed!! We topped it all off by going out to a family friends' farm for a few scenic shots before heading into the reception. Kim and Sam are friends of Ashly & Lindsy's...past clients from last year whom I got to visit with at the reception. And guess what?? Like all my other clients.... ha! just joking! No baby on the way yet! What a shocker!
Had a great day with you all,
Cheers,
Kelsy

Alicia & Cody- E-session

I was lucky enough to be able to photograph this *stunning* couple right before Cody took off to start the hockey season in Phoenix. We had a really great time on a few different farms...with permission and without :) Now that we've spent some time together, I feel really sad about not being able to photograph your wedding next July... I am sure it will be as amazing as you both!

Yours in Trespassing,
Kelsy

Nikki & Scot- September 8th 2007

A beautiful, hot fall day! I really enjoyed hanging out with you and your families all day......really family pictures at Tim Horton's? What could be better! ? Thanks for including me in your plans and I can't wait to show you all the amazing moments we captured!

Cheers,
Kelsy

Kyla- Lifestyle session

So, no, I'm not getting into Lifestyle photography...but I couldn't help but photograph Kyla and her family playing around last week. She is just too cute to turn down! We enjoyed a morning of pretending to be puppies and knock-knock jokes...a bit different then my normal shoots :)
Lots of fun to play with you, Kyla!

Big Hugs,
Kelsy

Karen and Sam- September 1st 2007

Who: Karen and Sam
What: Wedding!!
Where: Inglewood Christian & The Royal Glenora Club
When: Saturday
Why: Because they quite simply just adore each other!

Karen and Sam are a great match. They've know each other since high school and just fit together perfectly. Their ceremony was full of song and the message was inspiring. The BP made shooting our casual portraits funny and they definitely kept me on my toes...or off my feet for that matter. The reception at the Royal Glenora was beautiful and we really enjoyed capturing all the moments, especially during the dance. One super exciting thing about the Royal Glenora is there is a bowling alley in the basement for the guests to use! So we were able to sneak away later in the evening to take some funny images :) All-in-all a lot of laughs and a great day. Thanks for including me! I can't wait to show you the rest!

Hugs,
Kelsy

Getting the Dress on. Just a bit tricky! MOH Darla is getting her own shots of the moment!

Putting on her family heirloom necklace. It's been passed down and is a real keepsake.
Mom giving Karen her approval.
Such a loooooong train. Took Karen a bit of pacing about the house to get used to walking with it.
Look at this proud Dad. He was beaming.

All smiles!

Yay! Aileen and Boris! I photographed their wedding a couple years ago and they brought their new addition, baby Grace to the ceremony. Isn't she just perfect!
Newlyweds!

So here is the Bridal Party doing there best to act serious. As you can tell, they were all about having fun.

Sam and his Pa after the speeches
Giving the last Thank-you's of the night.
The first dance.
Awww!
Bowlarama!

Adele & Jeff- August 31st 2007

Adele & Jeff were married this Friday at St. Joesph's Cathedral. What a wonderful, relaxing day it was. Adele was so easy going...the flower girl wanted to walk down the isle with her, no problem...the groom lost in boutonniere, no worries. It was so nice having everyone just enjoying the day and not sweating the small stuff! The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception was great at The Delta. These two have an amazing connection that was beautiful to capture. I hear a lot of incredible stories about how couples meet and fall in love, but none have topped their story. Adele saved Jeff's live. Quite literally actually. She was the head nurse at the University Hospital when Jeff was Star Air-lifted to the ER where she was working. Everything started with that. Can you believe it? You just have to believe in fate when circumstances like that bring two people....who are so unbelievably perfect for each other, together.

Such a grand Cathedral...
The beautiful flower girl

These two wouldn't stop kissing! No joke! I had to say...okay, please stop now...let's move on.... or else they would have kissed there all afternoon :) hehe
Table for two!
Lots of great stories...tons of laughter and tear that night.First dance :)
