Andrea & Tim - esession

Andrea & Tim brought me down to their cabin on Pine Lake for their Engagement Session. As I drove near my childhood home of Innisfail in Central Alberta out to Pine Lake I saw things I miss while living in the city : herds of deer, snow swept barren landscapes, huge Alberta skies, coyotes running through fields, and of course the Rocky Mountain backdrop far in the distance. I forgot how much I loved seeing the Mountains everyday. Andrea & Tim still have that luxury living in Red Deer and I envy them for it :) We had a lot of fun playing in the snow and on the ice and enjoyed the warm January breeze. It was wonderful to spend an afternoon outside with them both.

Andrea & Tim you are both so sweet and genuine. I can't wait to photograph your wedding this fall and spend more time with you two.

Lots of Love,

Kelsy

New Look, New Name....

I am very excited to launch my brand new website for Kelsy Nielson Photographer. While I loved my old website and logo, I feel this new design reflects my photography style and personality better. It is a little more organic & romantic, which is more encompassing of my style. Along with the new logo, I am launching new organic packaging, eco-friendly stationary and a overall new feeling for my company. As well, an even higher standard of personalized service will come with the new "Kelsy Nielson Photographer" name as I will be limiting my commissions even greater in 2009. While shooting less weddings, I also will be taking a extremely limited amount of "Lifestyle" sessions a year. These family/children/couple sessions will all be shot on location with emphasis on your unique family connections & personality. For 2009, All Lifestyle sessions are $400.00, with a $200.00 print credit. Wedding Coverage will begins at 2900.00, with a'la carte options at your own choosing.

As I go into my 3rd year of business I would like to express gratitude to towards my clients, family and friends for their support. Thank you for your encouragement and love.

The new website is now up and running :) Please check it out here!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great afternoon,

Hugs,

Kelsy

2008 Christmas Challenge Update

I nearly forgot to update you all on the Christmas Challenge for 2008. I received over 30 big, thick, warm blankets for the Blanket Alberta in Warmth program. As well, I also received tons of bath towels (which are needed desperately by shelters right now), winter sweaters, warm jackets and adorable children's snow gear. Everything was extremely well received by the charities and I am very grateful to my generous clients for helping those in need this holiday season. Big cheers to all of you!!

God bless you & your families in 2009.

Lots of Love,

Kelsy

Natalie & Kyle- January 9 2009

Natalie and Kyle were married in a beautiful cliff top gazebo overlooking the ocean just outside of Guardalavaca, Cuba. The Cuban Ceremony was simple, yet powerful in its wording, asking them to promise they would look after there family before all else and to always work hard at their jobs, whatever the job may be, in order to provide for each other. Everything went off without the sightless hitch and quickly we were on our way to shoot the Bridal Party on the beach before whisking away Natalie and Kyle to the nearby city of Holguin for some pictures with a little taste of Cuban culture. It was an extremely enjoyable , very hot and actually kinda relaxing day for the couple, with no real stresses.... definitely a Island wedding. After our quick excursion to the city we arrived with plenty of time before the reception which was being set-up on the beach. However the rain clouds came rolling in...and although they were amazing for a few photographs with their dark blue tones, the staff at the Resort ( Paradisus Rio De Oro) had to quickly move the party indoors. The new location had gorgeous views of the ocean and ending up being perfect for the end of an amazing day.

Thanks Natalie and Kyle for taking us on this wonderful destination wedding with you and your closest friends and family. We enjoyed our taste of Cuban life and getting out of minus -30 for a week! You both deserved the best and your day was nothing but. I wish you a wonderful second week on the Island and fantastic honeymoon on your Panama Cruise!

Lots of Smiles,

Kelsy ( & Tim)
