This Fabulous Past Week...

I had the opportunity to learn from the lovely people at Red Leaf Studios in Regina, SK during a 3 day workshop. They are such warm & inviting people and they have a real passion for improving our industry. Throughout the week we had the opportunity to photograph beautiful models and the following images are from a session in the Avonlea badlands. It was surely a fantastic experience to learn from some of Canada's finest and I want to thank them for opening up my mind to new ideas. Amy & Richard, I wish you both many more delicious cupcakes, lots of time to snuggle with your puppies, and loads of personal & professional successes !

Hugs,
Kelsy

Amy & Warren- May 24 2008

Amy and Warren were married in a intimate ceremong at the Union Bank Inn on Saturday. Amy's just so bubbly, charming & cute and Warren is cool, calm and genuine...together they are a perfect pair. I had a lot of fun walking about with your Bridal Party downtown and meeting lots of characters on our travels. Perhaps one of the highlights was the serenade by the passing biker. Just Fantastic! Thanks for having me along for your amazing day, I loved every minute of it.

Enjoy the warm sandy beaches of Hawaii , you lucky ducks :)

Be Blessed,
Kelsy

Here is a very small sampling of the images we produced, hope you enjoy!

Cindy & Greg- May 17th 2008

Cindy and Greg are a perfect couple together. The amount of tears at the ceremony were a beautiful testament to the love they share. It was wonderful to see such a connection between two people and it was such joy to photograph. Lucky (or perhaps unlucky depending on what you were wearing) for us it was a gorgeous smoking hot day! However, I did feel a little bad for the guys in their suits as we trudged through Fort Edmonton's dusty paths on such a hot afternoon. But really you couldn't have asked for more: lots of love, beautiful weather and a reception full of fantastic memories. Thanks for sharing it all with me.

Enjoy a very small sampling from your day....

Cindy coming down the stairs at her parents home.... her Mother's reaction made me smile.

Fort Edmonton Park....lots of fun on a sunny afternoon :)

Click on the above image to enlarge it... it needs to be full screen to really view it :)

I couldn't resist putting one small series of Cindy from the reception. She was just as cute as a button and so very expressive! Love it!

Dania & Jason- May 10 2008

Dania & Jason were married in Sherwood Park this past weekend. After their ceremony we headed over to a friends' ranch for pictures of their energetic Bridal Party and everyone had some fun. We really couldn't have asked for a better spring day, beautifully overcast with a warm breeze. The trees were perfectly beginning to bud... ahhh, spring! The day finished off with a gorgeous reception full of tear-jerking speeches and lots of big laughs. As we were leaving the party was getting started... and I'm sure the rest of the night was a blast!

Have fun in Belize! I can't wait to hear all your adventures :)

Smiles,

Kelsy

Ciara & Giancarlo- (eSession)

Ciara & Giancarlo's engagement session was full of unique locations and surprise visitors. We braved the inner city and only got caught once for some minor trespassing...lol. Yesterday's rain clouds parted in time for a beautiful afternoon and I really enjoyed getting to know this gorgeous couple a bit more. I'm sure you'll agree, they're definitely hotstuff :)

Looking forward to your wedding this June!

Be blessed,

Kelsy

2008 National Image Competition

Last month I had the opportunity to enter our Professional Photographers of Canada Image Competition (PPOC). I love entering photographic competitions because it allows me to be judged by non-bias professionals. ( yes, my bias Mother may think I am the greatest photographer in the whole wide world... but that's just not good enough anymore :) ). If you've been to the Studio, you've seen my love of competitions... and this year I am nothing but smiles for the results. My wedding album (Rene & Kelly) placed in the top 3 Nationwide! I am very pleased with this result as the calibre of photographers who enter is just outstanding. As well, all of my entered images hung in the our national exhibition, which is just fantastic!

Again, I'd like to say how much I love my life as a wedding photographer. I love being a part of your lives and capturing moments for you. I love getting to know you all and your unique weddings, traditions and customs. It truly is a joy to do what I do.

A quote I used in my very first blog posting....

“When you find yourself beginning to feel a bond between yourself and the people you photograph, when you laugh and cry with their laughter and tears, you will know you are on the right track.” -Arthur Fellig

If that's the truth, then I'm on my way.

I look forward to 2008's wedding with lots of anticipation and excitement. I can't wait to push my limits a bit further with every wedding I shoot and take your images to a new level.

Thanks for your trust in me!

Lots of Hugs,

Kelsy

Lindsay & Jordan- Engagements

Lindsay & Jordan are getting married this July in New Norway, just southeast of the city. I'm a bit of a sucker for country weddings, and this one will be amazing! On Sunday we spent our afternoon in and around the River Valley, and it sure was fun hanging out with some country kids ( even only if at heart). These two are definitely meant to be together, they're just adorable!

Thanks for a fun afternoon,

Kelsy

Daina & Jason- e-session

Daina and Jason and getting married this weekend! Just days away now! I was lucky enough to be able to shoot their engagement portraits yesterday at their friends' gorgeous acreage...complete with white picket fences and fields of horses. What a treat! And there's nothing like jumping on a trampoline to bring back your childhood. They made me laugh the whole session through and Jason kept me on my toes. Lots of fun :) Here's hoping for another perfect day on Saturday!

Cheers,

Kelsy

Audrey & Peter- Engagements

Audrey and Peter are getting married July 19 and I am quite excited to be a part of their upcoming big day. They live full time in London and with their definitely hectic schedules, I was very pleased to be able to shoot their engagement session today before Peter flies back to the UK. One thing is for sure, your wedding will be beautiful, just like the two of you.

See again you very soon,

Kelsy
