KNP 's Christmas Challenge

Well, it's that season again! The season of giving. And this year I've decided it's time for a little project :) I have been so blessed in 2007 with great clients and lots of love, so I believe it is time to give back. And guess what? I've seen you all overwhelmed with emotion, full of love and gratitude for all the amazing things in your lives too (that a bonus of photographing receptions, I know you all have HUGE hearts) so I know you are all extra ready to give back too.

So here is the plan. We are having a fantastic Toy Drive for Santa's Anonymous. Please bring by your new, unwrapped toys for all those that need help to feel jolly this Christmas.

Here is the best part : for every toy you bring by, my gift to you is a 8x10 print of your choice. That's a value of $50 each! So you could get a bunch of friends, co-workers or family members to help you ...and voila! your home is filled with wedding and engagement pictures and all your family can finally get the beautiful prints they've been begging you for:)

I am hoping to be extremely busy printing 8x10's these next 35 days......

So here's hoping you all get started dropping off wonderful toys :) I have already got a pile started and there is lots of room for yours!

Love,
Kelsy

Kyle & Natalie- E session

Kyle & Natalie are getting married in 14 months...and they are having a destination wedding! Our engagement session was a bit chilly...scarves and jackets were in order...hopefully a lot different from the wedding day! It was great hanging out in a new (to me) area of the city, thanks for showing me the parks in your neck of the woods.

I can't wait to take off with you to paradise next January on your wonderful wedding adventure. Yay!

Cheers,
Kelsy

Rebecca & Ryan- Nov 10 2007

Rebecca and Ryan were married this Saturday in Sherwood Park. As my last wedding of 2007, we all enjoyed the freezing weather and a chilly wind :) But the BP was tough as nails and we were able to speed through our portrait session before heading off to Red Tail Landing for a beautiful (and toasty warm) reception. The night was filled with great speeches and lots of money raised for Cancer Research every time they kissed. Thanks for including in your wedding plans, I can't wait for you to both come over and relive some memories.

Keep warm,

Kelsy

Vanessa & Frank- November 3rd 2007

Vanessa and Frank were married (again ) in a beautiful Hindu ceremony in Toronto, ON. I originally photographed their wedding on 07.07.07 and was delighted to join them out east for the second celebration. With gorgeous fall colours, Lake Ontario as a backdrop and warm weather, it was a very enjoyable day...with lots of great images created. I especially enjoyed all the family, friends, and food that surrounded the weekend. It was awesome to feel like apart of both your families ( and it was awesome to wear that beautiful Sari! Thank you Auntie Cindy) Thanks so much for including me again . Can't wait to see you (and the part of the clan) at Dean & Jemina's wedding in February!

Hugs,

Kelsy

Image Competition 2007

Well, I'd like to start by saying I'm a little overwhelmed...but I'll try to get it all in words. I first want all my clients to know how much I've loved being apart of their lives this past year. It has been a whirlwind of excitement and I have enjoyed spending time with each and everyone of you. Thank you for trusting me with your most precious memories. Thank you for allowing me to produce amazing albums that can be passed down through generations. I have had so much fun this year and want you all to know how much I have loved 2007.

As for the Professional Photographers of Canada- Alberta Branch Annual Competition..... Here's what we won........Well, we did good :)

2007 Wedding Album of the Year "Kelly and Rene" (Wedding in Beaumont, AB) This award means the most to me as I put my heart into producing my albums. Thank you Kelly and Rene for being sooooo in love and letting your emotions, love and laughter be captured by myself. Your day was especially amazing and all the beauty that surrounded it was incredible to photograph.

2007 Wedding Group Portrait "Celebration on the Sand" (Wedding in Maui, HI) This image is from another amazing couple's destination wedding. Christine and Danny and their crew were so much fun...up for everything...and I mean everything. What a blast that day was!

2007 Photojournalist Wedding Image of the Year "Reluctant Princess" (Wedding in Wabasca, AB). Nichole and JJ's wedding was a great day to be apart of. Their two flower girls and two ring bearer's were so cute I had a hard time pulling the camera away from them :) But in the end we got an image that has fantastic emotion.

And to finish it off I won....."2007 Photographer of the Year" in the Generalist Category. This award is given to the photographer with the most outstanding overall entry. It was incredible to win, especially against the calibre of photographers we have in Alberta. It's been a bit of shock, but it's truly fantastic award to win so early in my career. And of course, I couldn't have done it without my brilliant, inspiring, sensational, wonderful clients. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!

So, as I take in all that has transpired these past few days, I want everyone to know how grateful I am to have everything I have. The blessing I have be given are beyond the wildest dreams. A amazing husband & family, a great career and new home....life is wonderful. And now it is time to give back in all that I can. The studio is planning a heartwarming project for all of us to share in our blessings.....I will post more details as it all becomes clearer., but as we are blessed to live some where with so much bounty, we too should bless others. More to come very soon....
All the Glory to the Big Guy Upstairs,
Kelsy :)

Brett & Rob- October 27 2007

Brettany & Rob were married this past weekend at St. Joesph's Cathedral. After a beautiful ceremony we proceeded to the University to the location where they first met...the Library. They have a large handful of degrees between the two of them, so the University seemed to be the perfect place to photograph them. We started at the Old Arts' building where Rob used to practise the Organ for his Music degree and then headed over to the Rutherford Library where they both worked on their Master's of Library Studies. It was a great way to show their story in pictures. The reception at the Faculty Club was beautiful and the speeches were sweet. Thanks to you you both for including me in your special day.

Be blessed,
Kelsy
