Kristin & James- September 14 2008

Kristin and James were married in an intimate & moving ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. Every time they looked at each other during the ceremony they both just beamed, it was so sweet to watch. Afterwards we headed out into the country to capture some portraits and enjoyed the warm fall weather despite the strong winds blowing Kristin's veil off again and again. I also like the fact that I could pull out my "Office" lines and be completely understood :) After having lots of fun in the fields they Bridal Party headed off to their reception at Northern Bear Golf Club where (based on their fantastic personalities)they all had a most enjoyable evening.

Thanks for the great afternoon! Hope you both have a lot of fun on your Honeymoon!

Be Blessed,

Kelsy

Chantal & David- September 13 2008

Chantal & David were married this past Saturday here in Edmonton. We were able to capture all the beautiful fall colours out at Chantal's family acreage. The area was stunning and the weather couldn't have cooperated better. The reception was held at Petroleum Club with beautiful decorating and lots of family and friends. This couple are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside and a real pleasure to spend time with. One thing is for sure...they will have the most gorgeous children! Their slideshow was fun to watch and see them both as the cutest kids EVER!

Thanks for including me in your day... good luck with all the changes in your lives right now, including your big move to Australia!

Cheers,

Kelsy

Lyndsay & Jordan- September 6 2008

Lyndsay & Jordan were married at Devonian Gardens in a lovely ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. The rain clouds lingered by as the ceremony began and I wondered if we might get a drop or two, but as the couple were about to kiss for the first time as man & wife, a perfect beam of light streamed down upon them. I'm not making this up, it was just like out of a fairy tale. Afterwards we enjoyed pictures in the gardens and a wonderful reception at the Druze Centre, where Lyndsay's true calling of being a decorator was evident. The room looked amazing and the super-awesome cake by DD cakes (yes, I am the founding member of Deliciously Different Cakes fan club) perfectly suited the decor of round pink lanterns and satin table cloths. Amazing!

Thanks for having me tag along :)

Michelle & Adam- eSession

Adam & Michelle are getting married May long weekend in Canmore days after they graduate from medical & dental school.... 2 other good reasons to throw a party :) I have known Adam for a very long time, he is one of my husbands' best friends and was a part of our wedding in Mexico. I've gotten to know Michelle a bit over the last year and was excited to spend more time with them as their photographer. Michelle decided because the wedding images would be in the mountains, it would be nice to have the engagements on the prairies. When I called to talk about the style of the portraits, she asked for a "romantic feel" while I heard Adam gagging in the background. Awesome, I thought, this is going to be painful. But, unknown to me, Adam has the sweetest romantic side. I was amazed by their connection and the way every glance seemed to hold a secret. It was wonderful to see a new side of a great friend and I am looking so forward to your wedding and spending more time with you both.

Thanks for your trust in me and your showing your love to the camera. It really brought a smile to my face.

Love & hugs from your friend,

Kelsy

Fun new website

I recently found out about Wedding Wire, a great new networking wedding site. This interactive planning site has lots of great ideas, great vendors and free personal wedding websites. You can also make up a budget for your wedding and see what wedding events are happening in our area. This website also has a section to read reviews from actual previous brides who have used a service....which I think is a GREAT idea. I am a HUGE fan of trip advisor, and use it every time I book a hotel or holiday.... impartial reviews to ensure that you get the best service for your budget. I am so glad this idea has come to the wedding world. Go check it out!

As well, if I have already shot your wedding, I would love if you could write a short review of your experience to share with other brides-to-be. It's quick and anonymous. Thanks for your helping others who are considering booking.

Hope you're all having a great Thursday :)

Kristin & James- eSession

Kristin & James are getting married in a couple of weeks here in Edmonton. They are an adorable couple with a love of travelling. They backpacked through Europe this summer and went to so many amazing places. How could you not love people who love the same things in life as you? I enjoyed hanging out on Whyte and at the top of Connors' Hill where James proposed not too long ago :) It was really fun getting to know more about you both and I can't wait to spend your special day with you.

Cheers,

Kelsy

Kristin captures a jumping photo of herself in every city she visits...here is one for good old edmonton :)

Sarah & Dean- mSession :)

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph my very first maternity session ever! Luckily my models were some of my very best friends who were willing to take the time for me to figure out how to actually shoot pregnancy images.....lol....it is a bit different from my 'normal' sessions, the posing is unique with that lovely big belly and also realizing that making my couple get up and down while I change my mind for locations is not really a good idea when some one is nearly 9 months along :) I was blessed to be Sarah's maid of honour at her wedding years ago and yesterday it was another honour to document this special time in their lives before they start the next brilliant chapter.

Sarah & Dean, you are a both amazing people who will be unbelievable parents. Your baby will be so incredibly loved, so perfectly beautiful and so wonderfully snuggable. I can't wait to hold her and marvel at the beauty of life.

the best is yet to be.......

love & hugs,

Kelsy

This shot requires a small explanation. While walking through the field, I saw a single daisy growing and picked it for quick image. When I approached Sarah and told her the idea, her mouth dropped. On her Vision Board (yes, she is a 'Secret' addict like myself, complete with a board with images of her goals, hopes and dreams) at home there is a picture of belly and a small daisy. I was not aware of this beforehand. It just shows how visualizing what you want can help you achieve your goals...even down to the smallest detail :)
