Michelle and Raymond- August 25th 2007

Michelle & Ray's wedding was an absolute delight to photograph this past weekend. The day was scattered with rain and was pretty chilly, but no one complained as we spent our time outside armed with umbrellas & scarfs. The day was long and fun filled...Michelle was up at 5am to get ready for her 11am ceremony. Crazy girl. The reception was action packed and kept them going till way past midnight....what a long day for the bride and groom. Long, but wonderful. River Cree Resort hosted the reception, which was stunning. I was extra lucky cause I got to sit with one of my favourite videographers, Walter from DeFiNiTiVe ProjX. All-in-all, a great day filled with wonderful people and great memories.

Thanks for including me in your celebration. Enjoy your trip back to Vancouver!

Brides- check this out

So I was just blog-surfing one of my favourite wedding photographers blogs and read this posting about his latest destination wedding in Mexico. The pictures are unbelievable, but the story is even more amazing. Hey, things can go wrong at a wedding....it doesn't have to be perfect....in fact, nothing can go right sometimes. But it's your day & you only get one, so you might as well enjoy it. Huge Kudos to this bride for going with the flow, living it up, and remembering that sometimes it is the things that go wrong that make your day most memorable.

Your going to enjoy this! Absolutely Amazing to say the least.

Laura and Tim

Who: The delightful Laura & Tim
What: Urban E-session
When: Wednesday!
Where: Downtown Edmonton

Laura and Tim are tying the knot in February at The Mac. We spent our evening running around behind old buildings, getting heels stuck in metal grates, laughing at each other and trying to avoid sitting anywhere that smelled too funny. By the end of the night I thought we were a couple of old friends just hanging out, these two made me feel so a part of their lives. I loved documenting your love and connection, and I can't wait to photograph your wedding.

Bits and pieces of wonderful emails

I just wanted to send a BIG thank-you out to everyone. I have had an overload of very sweet emails in the last week and I just wanted everyone to know I have loved creating these images for you.

I wanted to share some of my favourite comments:

Hey Kelsy-
I just wanted to say thanks from a bridesmaids perspective for making what was already a super special day into an even MORE special one. It was great having you around and I can’t wait to see some of your beautiful photographs
.

Kelsy,
Well, it's three days post-wedding and I'm still reminiscing over all that transpired on one of the happiest days of my life. But of course, none of it would of have been captured if it weren't for you and Alicia. I just saw your pictures on your blog and I am crying yet again. Your pictures are phenomenal! John and I can't thank you enough for all the hard work you and Alicia did for us. You guys were superb in handling the craziness that goes on in large asian weddings!

HI Kelsy!! I know I just talked to you yesterday but we looked at your blog and the pictures look AMAZING!!! We can't wait to see the rest! I've gotten so many complements on them already!Anyways just thought that I would share our excitement with you :):):)Thanks again!!

Kelsy,
I don't think I ever said thank you for the amazing job you did. I feel like I am still looking for a wedding photographer. But the only one I check out is you. I check your website every Monday to look at the new pictures. They are always so beautiful. Everybody loves the album. It brought tears to my dads eyes. I'm so glad I saw you at bridal fantasy. Nobody else could have captured the day like you. Thank You

Hi there,
I just finished reviewing your Maui photos with Cat and Ken! I am the emcee of their wedding and just wanted to start by saying your photos are absolutely amazing, natural and artisitc! If I ever find someone crazy enough to marry me, there is no doubt I will be hiring you!

Too awesome!
BIG CHEERS out to all of you!
Kelsy :)

Jill and Rick- e-session extraordinaire

When Jill and Rick 1st made there appointment for engagements...it rained... we rebooked...then rain....we rebooked....rain.... I was starting to think all I needed to do was email Jill in order to get a thunderstorm. But we were finally able to meet last night out at her parents Sunflower Farm. Jill and Nick...no I mean Rick, were bubbly, sweet and so much fun to be around. I enjoyed the all the flowers, the kittens and 3 detours it took me to find the farm :)

Thanks guys. Looking forward to your Jan 2008 wedding :)

Cathy & Ken- August 18 2007

Cathy and Ken were married this last weekend at Spruce Meadows outside Calgary. I knew it was going to be a great day when I told Cat "So, our outdoor location has had 3 bear sightings in the last week and it is going to require some minor mountaineering to get down the rock wall to the river...." and she was like, "awesome, I'll pack some extra shoes." We didn't see any bears, no one ended up in the river (expect for me) and we had a fantastic time crawling over boulders. The ceremony was also beautiful....doing the pics beforehand really allowed the couple to enjoy their ceremony without the stress. The reception was sponsored in part by the best company ever, Backside Tours (check them out). Neall was a great MC who made everyone laugh all night and the ambiance was wonderful. All-in-all, the day was in-spiring, in-credible and in-joyable. (Sorry Neall, I'm stealing your jokes).

Thanks so much for making me feel so welcome in your group and letting me share in your amazing day.

Enjoy a small portion of memories from your day!

Cathy looking images from her parents wedding.

I was able to dash over to the guys right before the limo picked them up. We told them to get 1/2 dressed...and they definitely were.

The BP at our gorgeous location in Bragg Creek (however, I'm a little bias)

Crossing a creek to get to the river. My kind of clients :)

The ceremony...You didn't realise I was photographing Helen Hunt's wedding to Mark Walhberg! Yes, the resemblance is shocking!
Legal stuff...
Sooo happy! Cathy was literally jumping up and down. So great to see love like that!

Laughing at the video message from a friend.
The Shoe-game!

And of course, the 1st dance to Better Together.
See you both soon!
