Rachelle and René- Engagement Session

Rachelle and René are my first 2008 couple to get their engagement pictures done. Last night we decided to head down to Whyte Ave for some fun stuff, hit up their hang-outs and walked down to the river valley. It turned out to be a gorgeous night and I really enjoyed getting to know them better and hear of their "it must be fate" story of how they got together. Lots of fun and laughs!

Enjoy!

Shannon & Kurt- May 26

"And the greatest gift is love..."

When I entered Shannon and Kurt's home for the getting ready portion of the day, this was the first thing I saw. A small plaque with those words engraved struck me deeply, and came to be on my mind all day. If you caught the evening news on Saturday night you would have watched parts of Shannon and Kurt's wedding. Shannon's mother is very ill from cancer and was unable to attend her daughters wedding, although she wanted too with everything she had. Thanks to Michelle French , Andrew Grose, and Capital Health, Shannon's mother was able to watch the ceremony at the hospital through direct feed via the Internet. It was an emotional day....I go to many weddings were I cry, but this was different. A hospital visit after the ceremony was an incredible, beautiful display of love from this amazing family. This was an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Love truly is the greatest gift we can be given. The love of a mother, the love of a daughter. The love of our Father in Heaven helping us through one more day. The love of our family and friends supporting us in whatever life gives us. The love of a new father...Kurt also got a new title that day, one I am positive he will excel at. Love constantly amazes and inspires me, and I feel so blessed to have been able to be in the presence of so much of it on Saturday. Words simply can not express the beauty of it.

Being a Behind the Scenes Events wedding, everything was superb and the decor was incredible. Michelle French always helps to put on the most beautiful weddings. The ceremony was perfect, the formals fun, the reception a treat! Andrew Grose from the Laughing for Cancer Charity, did an amazing comedy show. It was an awesome addition to this wedding...something well looking into for your upcoming wedding. They are hoping to raise $1,000,000 for cancer, so log on and see how you can help..... Onto the images:

Kurt's Grandma giving the Bride an awesome pre-hair foot rub....lucky girl!

The Ceremony: Trinity Anglican Church.
All smiles after being announced "husband and wife":

Shannon and her amazing mother, Mary.
Onto Fort Edmonton for some fun formal pics...

BIG kisses!
Ever try taking a picture while the ride keeps spinning around and around?....although I'm sure they didn't mind holding that kiss... the only thing was Kurt was going down while Shannon was going up...very entertaining!
Michelle French's beautiful head table. Everything was stunning in champagne and chocolate brown.
Laughing it up at the comedian, Andrew Grose.
A bit tearful from the speeches
Aww, the infamous laugh during the hunt for the garter!
Thank you again for allowing me to be apart of your special day.
Lots of hugs,
Kelsy

E-session: Kelly & René

Kelly and René have got to be two of the easiest people to photograph! They are just too cute together, full of love and always making each other laugh. It was so awesome to see two people who are so truly 'meant' to be together....kinda makes you believe in true love....

So very ready to photograph your wedding,

Kelsy

Sherry & Dan- E-session

Welcome Sherry and Dan to the Blog!
Last night I had the pleasure of photographing newlyweds-to-be at Whitemud Valley. Note to anyone wanting to go out for a afternoon in the park: Bring BUG SPRAY! It was CRAZY! I stopped counting the bites after 20. Other than the swarms of mosquitoes, I had a really great getting to know this awesome couple and their 2 puppies better. With the wedding only a few weeks away, the countdown is on!

We started off with a family pic including Duke and Daisy, the pups....

See you both very very soon.....

Cheers,

Kelsy

Nichole & JJ

Who: Nichole & JJ
What: Wedding
Where: Wabasca
When: May 12 2007

Nichole and JJ's wedding was in the Northern hamlet of Wabasca, a tiny place where my Matrix was the only car amongst the 4x4's...which makes sense considering it's a rough gravel road to get you there! What an adventure for Aleshya & I! Nichole was a stunning bride, JJ pulled off his tux like a pro and their two little boys were so charming and incredibly handsome! I could have made a entire blog with images of the ring bearers and flower girls.

Thank you for sharing your day with me and thank you for your warm hospitality, what your community lacks in size it more than makes up for in love and spirit.

Here are some of my favourites, the extremely windy day works out in your favour sometimes :)

Waiting to walk into the church to meet her Father for the ceremony.
Girls laughing it up!
Here's that northern wind! Chilly, yes, but the veil blew wonderfully...
More of that wind...there goes her dress...

Laughing at Nichole's parents' speech.
Head table laughing away...
Look at that proud look in this Father's eyes. Got me a little teary (and the song choice didn't help either :) )
Thank-you again for sharing you day with me. Every Monday when I look back at the weekend and I am so thrilled to do the job that I do. It is so fulfilling to see so much love, life and laughter. Thanks for just letting me be apart of it.

Lots of hugs,
Kelsy
